Studio One How To Use Downloaded Vst

As you may know, Studio One runs best as a 64-bit application. We’ve had numerous emails about VST’s and VSTi’s disappearing from Studio One upon upgrade. What many users may not realize it that they may have been running in 32-bit until the upgrade to Version 3 and now they’re in 64-bit. And 32-bit plug-ins don’t run in 64-bit.

Some plug-ins download as both 32-bit and 64-bit (or, at least give you the option of downloading one or the other). So, some of your plug-ins will show up and some won’t. The first thing you need to do is determine which plug-ins you have in 64-bit and which ones you don’t.

Start by loading the newest version of Studio One that you have, go to the Studio One menu and select “About Studio One.” This will tell you whether you are using the 64-bit or 32-bit application. If you’re running in 64-bit mode, this is the time to make a list of your 3rd party plug-ins. Write them down and label them 64-bit. I use a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet to keep track of my plug-ins. Whatever works best for you is fine.

Once you’re finished making your list, close Studio One. Now go to your Windows Explorer (Win) or your Finder (Mac) and find the Studio One launcher. The Windows version actually has two executable files (.exe) – one for 32-bit and one for 64-bit. The Mac has one executable file for both. If you’re on Windows, run the 32-bit version. If you’re on Mac, right-click on the Studio One 3 file and select “Get Info” in the dropdown menu. At the next pop-up, select “Run in 32-bit mode.” Now launch the application.

Once you’re in 32-bit mode (on either platform), make another list of all your 3rd party plug-ins. Lincroft cmns dev co c o comprehens. Label this one 32-bit plug-ins. Now compare this to the 64-bit plug-ins list. Any plug-ins that are in the 32-bit list, but not in the 64-bit list, are what you have to deal with.

Windows users: From within Studio One, navigate to the Options Locations, and select the VST Plugins tab. By default, Studio One will have C Program Files Vstplugins as the default location. You can also use the Add button to add custom locations. Mac OS X users: From within Studio One n avigate to Preferences/Options/ Locations/VST Plug-ins. Click on the Add button, and specify the location of your plug-in. You can also drag-and-drop any folder from the Explorer/Finder into the Locations list in Studio One. Studio One Producer/Professional will then scan these locations at start up of the software, including searching for new plug-ins you've added. You can always add more locations if needed.

Oct 28, 2019  If the relevant plugin files are in the above folders, perform a rescan: Launch Studio One (Windows users: right click Run as administrator). Go to Studio One Options (PC) / Preferences (Mac) Locations VST Plug-Ins tab, and make sure the following paths are listed (if they are not, add them).

Studio One Producer/Professional will then scan these locations at start up of the software, including searching for new plug-ins you've.

Now you have a decision to make. Do you download all your plug-ins’ 64-bit versions or do you buy a 32 to 64-bit bridging application?

Depending on how many 32-bit plug-ins you have, you may want to go down the list and download the 64-bit versions of each of those plug-ins. Some of them will not have a 64-bit counterpart. Make a note of these. Of course, if you have too many plug-ins to be able to download them all, you may want to move straight on to the next section.

Using a 32 to 64-bit bridging application like JBridge (https://jstuff.wordpress.com/jbridge) or 32 Lives by Soundradix (www.soundradix.com) will allow you to use your 32-bit plug-ins in your 64-bit DAW. Be aware, however, that not all plug-ins work well in these application. Precision auto tune jacksonville north carolina. You should be fine with most plug-ins, but you may have a couple of them that just don’t want to cooperate.

As of the writing of this article, JBridge works with plug-ins up to VST 2.4, but is not yet compatible with VST 3, but it is for Windows and Mac platforms. 32 Lives appears to be up to the task of handling all versions of VST, but is currently a Mac only application. Also, both applications are commercial, but neither one is very expensive…and both offer a demo, so you can see if they’ll work for you.

The only viable option for those plug-ins that just won’t work in a bridging application, is to run Studio One is 32-bit mode, use the plug-in, render it as audio when you’re sure you have it just the way you want it, export it, and then import it into your 64-bit project.

We hope this helps you give new life to your old plug-ins.

I'm trying to use the vst of Studio One Artist Piapro Edition in Ableton Live 9 but it crashes Ableton when I load it on a track. I did some digging around and read online that there was an update to the VST that solves this issue (apparently version 1.0.0 is 32-bit and there was an update with version 1.1.0 that makes it 64-bit) but for the life of me I can't find where to download this update!
I read on your site of how to check for updates within Studio One and I did that when I loaded up the software separately and that says it's up-to-date, but the VST is still old. How do I update the VST? I'm on a Mac by the way.

Not sure what you are asking, but you can not use 3rd party vst with S1 Artist. If you are trying to use S1 Artist vst in another host, that won't work either. They are proprietary.

I'm not using a 3rd party vst within studio one, i'm using studio one as a vst within ableton. And it doesn't matter that it's proprietary o.O there is a vst version of it that came with it when i bought it. check your vst folder, you should have one too.

Are you talkng about rewire?
Aparently you know more about this than i do, so i will get out of the way here. I have never seen S1 perform as a vst, nor any file that came with it.
Good luck on your search.

Ok, after a quick google I found this..
http://piaprostudio.com/?page_id=28&lang=en
.. which is apparently a special edition of S1 Artist that loads the 'Piapro Studio' app as a VSTI? No idea if that's done by extension and/or if buyer of that bundle can also load Piapro Studio as a VSTI in other daws .. but that's probably what he's talking about (has to be actually) loading the Piapro Studio VSTI from that bundle in Ableton?
Certainly not loading S1 into Ableton, but using that plugin in Ableton.
I mean, except for the special edition, that plug wouldn't load in S1 Artist since Artist doesn't load third party plugs. I wonder how many 'Special Edition' Artist versions are out there?

It is evident to me that Piapro is a product that is not by Presonus, and is not connected to Studio One. It looks like Piapro is a VST that is supposed to run in DAWS or hosts *such as* Studio One.
So, in the picture, Studio One is shown as one possible host for Piapro. But Piapro is not a special edition of S1 Artist, or any other Presonus product.

It's actually called 'Studio One Artist Piapro Edition' that version of Artist.
Think about it. It has to be connected because Artist doesn't load third party plugins, so that has to be a collaboration or agreement of some kind or that plugin wouldn't even work in S1 Artist.
I've seen that once before recently somewhere, another 'Artist Edition' like that, although I forget what product it was using. Seems to be the start of a trend.
Edit: Here it is below, the Fishman Triple Play, where you see S1 Artist loading a 3rd party VST that it wouldn't otherwise load. I assume that's an OEM thing. I mean, i assume the OP wouldn't be able to load Triple Play in his version and vice versa, an owner of that Triple Play Edition wouldn't be able to load PiaPro..

Just checked again and yep, the vst is called 'piapro studio' specifically. Sorry for any confusion. I just wanted to get Hatsune Miku
So what should I do to upgrade this vst so I can use it?
EDIT: I found it! Here: http://sonicwire.com..rt/prod?lang=en
Now does anyone know how to use it? lol I bought Hatsune Miku and I'd like to load her into Ableton with this but I have no idea how any of Piapro's software works.
Here's what I'm seeing:

You'd have to contact their support for that. If it only works in S1 as a VSTI the license must be S1 specific.

I googled piapro, and found the site. Fascinating stuff! But half of the stuff is in Chinese, and I'm pretty weary of downloads from China! Still, the software, if uncontaminated with spyware, looks pretty cool. I did see a link on the site that shows you how to use it.
* I also saw a link to 'Studio One OEM'. So, does this OEM spec make Studio One treat certain software programs as if they were hardware? Now I see how it looks like piapro was something that was an version of S1. But if I understand things, there are versions of piapro tailored for Studio One. Is that right?

I believe you get Studio One ARTIST with Audio Box, but Studio One Artist version does not support 3rd party VST's. You would need to upgrade to S1 Producer or Pro to use 3rd party VST's.
I will say that Studio One's native effects are very good. You do get a quality compressor, a 7 band fully parametric EQ, chorus, a very flexible room reverb..and much more.
I hope this doesn't disappoint you, but after messing with a zillion VST's (I have S1 Pro), I still mostly use Studio One's native effects. Also, upgrades cost less than buying Producer or Pro from scratch. And, you can always wait for a sale..they do come by every now and then.

Sorry to necro an old thread! This is how I got my new version of Hatsune Miku's v4x to work with ableton live.
First, you download the necessary files and install them to your computer, making sure to install each library and activate your serials.
Because I have my plugins in a different folder than Live's default, I had to take the piapro studio VSTi.dll and copy it into my plugins folder. After a restart, Ableton Live 9 recognizes the VST and works perfectly.
Hope this helps anyone, cause it sure was frustrating for me.
